Masterplan?? Excerpt of a prolific Community Development Bible

Guiding Principle of RRRM – food for thought:

  • Go to the people,
  • Live among them,
  • Learn from them,
  • Serve them,
  • Plan with them,
  • Start with what they know,
  • Build on what they have,
  • Not piecemeal but integrated approach,
  • Not showcase but pattern,
  • Not relief but release
  • Mass education through mass participation,
  • Learn by doing, Teach by showing

SOAK.

There is something about soaking under the sun that makes even the weakest part of one’s body strong. Maybe it’s the Vitamin D. Or the energy. Or the warm glow, and even the brutal and punishing heat brings forth renewed vigor soon after. Reasons why people from temperate climates are sun worshipers. And so when one soaks in the warm embrace of fellowship, then even the weakest part of the group is injected with a renewed sense of brotherhood, of camaraderie, of being human – the proverbial connectedness.

SHARE.

The best part? When one is strong and connected, one is able to do immeasurably more than he or she is able. The sum is greater than the parts so they say. Sharing then becomes second nature. Caring, too, becomes natural. “One cannot give what one does’nt have’, as the cliche goes. We see this principle in action especially in the festive season. But add a sprinkle of vision, of mission and a greater purpose, then you have the perfect recipe for a movement that can transcend time.

SING. REPEAT

The floodgates of hitherto unknown talents rise up to the occasion to go with the flow. Singing, dancing, laughing, embracing, shaking – all gestures which makes us human become a staple sight when one is loaded with the thought that one has soaked and one has shared.

The cycle then continues……in turn creating an unstoppable movement so viral that can reap dividends one day…
